I believe that the correlation between secure attachment and higher well-being is mostly due to the fact that secure attachment arises largely from the encouragement from the parents for their young children to explore and take a greater role in their own understanding. This early encouragement allows the child to learn independence and self-confidence for they will learn to make their own decisions. If such a parenting style is continued later in life where the parents continue to adopt supportive--not controlling or demanding--roles in their child's life, the children will continue to learn to adapt to new situations varying from going to kindergarten to dealing with stress and relationships.
very true.if they do not recieve prompts to be their own individual, they will permanently rely on the attachment that could otherwise be extremely beneficial.
I agree with this because a parent's role in the child's life and development are important factors that affect how he will end up later in life. If the parents are supportive, then the child is going to fair better than if they had been unsupportive because the constant boosts in morale and motivation that they will potentially offer will help the child want to succeed.
I agree with this theory - if a child is encouraged by the caregiver(s), it will give them the confidence to make the right decisions and live a higher-quality life.
