While children who have one type of attachment type may tend to grow up to act a certain way later in life, we cannot say that this relationship is causal. Other factors such as the environment in which babies who develop a certain type of attachment may be the root behind how they will fair later in life. For example, babies who have the secure attachment type with their mothers may have developed that attachment type because the mothers were very dedicated to the baby and loved it a lot and wanted it to succeed later in life. Generally then, the mother would offer the child a lot of support later in life and he would greatly benefit from the help as compared to a child whose mother may not have helped him while he was growing up.
