Attachment Lab

I agree that the attachment style definitely has some impact on the child's future well being.  However, I think there are many other factors as well.  For example, even if the child grows up feeling secure and in a good relationship with his mother, the environment the child grows up in could greatly alter his happiness.  Even if he had a good attachment style, if he grows up in a bad area and always watching his parents fighting he might not feel as secure as he did when he was first born.

I agree with this statement because even if the child had a great relationship with his parents but the perents didnt have a good relationship with each other this could easily affect the child negatively.

However, if his parents were always fighting, couldn't you assume that the parent primarily giving care to the child had other things on his/her mind, and thus dedicated less time to the child? The book stated that anxious or depressed mothers had a much lower chance of developing a securely attached bond with their infants.
