Another factor that might affect the relationship between attachment style and future well-being is the multitide to which a child attempts to develop an original attachment. With only one attentive mother, the subject of attachment is relatively clear. However, in cases where a child may be temporarily cared for by other members of the family, the focus of attachment blurs as the infant might restart the attaching process with each new figure. A baby's memory is probably not developed enough to remember more than two figures in the long-term. It could be reasoned then, by never 'completing' an attachment, there wouldn't be a secure attachment at all.
