I have often wondered about the correlation between a father daughter relationship and the daughter's future relationship with her husband. After understanding a bit about attachement, I feel that if separation anxiety exists within a father daughter relationship, then it this will probably translate into the relationship she has with her future husband. This is all just a guess though.
I agree that there can sometimes be a correlation. I have heard many times that a girl searches for a partner who is like her dad. If her dad treated her well, she will search for another guy who treats her well because that is her memory of a good relationship. SHe has high expectations for her relationship. If her father treated her badly, she will have low expectations in her future partner and she'll settle for less.
