The role that sibilings play in development is definitely a force worth considering. The amount of time and interaction we experience with our siblings is considerable--it has to have some sort of impact on whether or not we tend to be more or less secure.
This is true, especially if the sibling is older by a considerable amount (which gives them authority and causes their actions towards their siblings to be more weighted). I feel like siblings almost act like another parent as far as forming attachment goes, yet people can become estranged from their siblings far more easily than their parents, which is also a point to consider.
My post was related to siblings as well. There are many factors in growing up, and specifically concerning siblings, different people act differently according to that. People who grew up in large families usually have different personalities compared to those who were an only child. A child with many siblings may be less attached than one who is the only child in the household.
