All types of children grow up in different environments. For instance, if a child is raised in a large family, there are many instances which one or more older sibling can act in part as the role of a child's mother. In this case, a child who is being raised by another child can either be entirely dependant upon the sibling and not the mother or could complete independent in the long run because of the child's being accustomed to being separated from the mother.
Its true that various attachments can be developed based on sibling relations. I have a friend who was pretty much raised by her sister so could her attachment to her mother be considered the main relationship? or to her sister because her sister was much older and more of a mother figure.
I agree with this because in single parent families many of those kids gain more of a trust with what ever gender is raising them. In example a child just raised by a mom will trust women more than men because there father or male figure was never around.
