I think that the relationship between your parents and THEIR parents (aka your grandparents) affects how you interact with your parents. For example, if their parents had a distant and formidable relationship with your parents, then that might affect their parenting style for you.
I definitely agree with that. In most cases the apple doesn't fall far from the tree and usually how a parent was raised by their parents whether it be good or bad determines how they raise their children. Unfortunately this can cause a cycle of bad parenting which can lead to troubled young adults and this can also effect how the entire family interacts causing very distant relationships, if any at all.
I agree with this analysis. I believe that a family's culture plays a large part in a child's development and their level of attachment, and this culture is largely influenced by the culture that the parents grow up in.
